Every Small Group should place a nameplate for their groves.
New Small Groups, have you opened your bank account / have you signed the GHG.
Minimum 2 members from each Small Group should attend the Node and there should be minimum 1 woman member from every Small Group.

Semboondi Village
Semboondi village is 30 minutes distance by cycle from Mel Kodungalur. This village is the new Node Center from June 2006 covering Semboondi, Thettalam, Thuraiyuor, Kil Seesamangalam Kadamboor, MGR Nagara and Kiliyanagar villages. Presently, there are 17 active Small Groups attending this Node. 9 Small Groups have started planting trees and giving their SGMR’s. 5 different types of trees like, Teak, Pencil, Neem, Eucalyptus and Casuarina are planted in these villages by the Small Groups. December 2006 quantification shows that there are more than 1,75,000 trees planted in and around these seven villages.

Jain Small Group of Semboondi Village
This Small Group was registered during 2006 and their Node Center is at Semboondi. Presently, they have maximum Neem trees planted in their groves. There are 5258 Neem trees. Their future plan is to use the neem flower and fruits for medicinal purpose. They have 35000 Casuarina Seedlings with them, which would be transplanted shortly.
Shakthi Vinayagar Small Group of Semboondi Village
This Small Group was registered during 2006 and their Node Center is at Semboondi. They have four different types of tree species like, Teak, Pencil, Casuarina and Eucalyptus totaling to 45738 trees.
The members of the above two Small Group of Semboondi have promised to increase non-casuarina and non-eucalyptus trees in line with the 30:30:40 ratio of trees. They also attend Node meeting in groups without fail. These members are very active during Node asking various important questions to enhance their knowledge on TIST project.

Keeranallur Village Keeranallur
Village is 15 minutes distance by cycle from Kandoor Node Center. During October 2006 two new Small Groups were recruited from this village, followed by which in December 2006 14 new Small Groups were recruited. During the December Node meeting, several members from all the 16 Small Groups attended and learnt the importance of being with TIST. Seven Small Groups have already given a copy of their land ownership certificates. TIST requests all the other groups to give a copy of the same. TIST is hoping to get 20 more new Small Groups in a village called Jambhodai, which is close to Keeranallur and soon Keeranallur Village will become yet another Node Center. TIST request all the members to inform their friends and relatives of Keeranallur and Jambhodai Village to make use of the opportunity and join TIST.
Elumalayan Small Group of Keeranallur Village
This Small Group was identified during October 2006 and the members of this Small Group had immediately started with few thousand Eucalyptus trees. They have been registered in TIST now, after which, they are planning to bring up yet another grove with some fruit bearing trees like, Mango or Sapota. The members have given a copy of their land ownership certificates and are planning to sign the GHG too.

TIST is looking for voluntary coordinators for helping the members in training and carrying out various other activities related to TIST project. Interested members are requested to contact the TIST Coordinator immediately.
