Health experts tell the leaders across the globe to prioritize investment in public health, clean air, clean water and a stable climate in order to boost resilience against future health crises. We all know that the world is growing rapidly, pollution on air, soil and water is increasing greatly choking the environment which is main cause for global warming and climate change and that causes health issues. Working continuously practicing agroforest, prudent use of land and natural resources for growing trees and practicing conservation farming is best act towards global warming mitigation. Amutha Small Group – Kilsathamangalam, Tiruvannamalai District Amutha Small Group members are following the best practices of TIST in monitoring the trees at Vandhavasi Center, Kilsathamangalam Village. The members of this small group say that they are following the natural way in practicing farming, we are using vermicompost for trees, and during leaf based diseases on the trees we use mixture of cow dung ash and thermal powerplant fly ash to treat the disease, this helps in protecting the leaves from erosion due to insects. We are also practicing intercrops in between the trees and protecting the moisture in the soil. We are following the best practices in farming. The members of this small group are participating in Node Meetings without fail and receiving tree stipend for their trees. Vanakkam with folded hands is our traditional way to extend respect and that is the best way to stay safe . Santhi Small Group – Bujjireddipalli Village, Tiruvallur District We the Small Group Members of Santhi Small Group from Bujjireddipalli Village, Thiruthani Centre, Tiruvallur Disrict have planted 1,031 redsander tree and 432 mango trees and following the best practices of TIST since three years by participating in TIST training programs and growing the trees in good manner with all the learnings from the training programs. In our tree grove we are practicing short time food crops like, groundnut, chilly and we are getting good income out of it. In addition, we have received Rs.3,545 as tree stipend from TIST for our live trees. We are participating in TIST Node Meetings and Training Meetings too. Our thanks to TIST India for encouraging us.
