Crop Rotation – The best way of organic farming Cultivation of different crops on a same land to improve soil nutrients. Select and cultivate different crops to improve the physical and chemical condition of soil for overall fertility of soil. Nitrogen-fixing plants form a mutually beneficial symbiotic relationship with soil bacteria. While you select crops make sure that nitrogen depleting crop should be preceded by a nitrogen fixing crop. Crop rotation is practiced, so that, the crops themselves sustain soil health. While single crop cultivation would deplete soil nutrients and you would be forced to go for chemical pesticides that would lead to complete damage in soil nutrients. Crop rotation would improve soil fertility and structure, increases oil organic matter, there would be improvement in biodiversity and controls soil erosion.

Tree stipend payment All these years TIST was paying the tree stipend to small groups through small groups savings bank account. Now a day, opening a savings account in any bank on small group name is challenging. Farmers requested TIST for change in tree stipend payment mode. Also, small group members suggested that TIST can pay the tree stipend to any one of the members individual savings bank account and that member would receive the tree stipend on behalf of their group and after receiving the amount he or she would share or distribute the amount to the other members of the group according to the number of trees each member owns. We asked the small group members about this idea proposed by few small groups and the other small groups agreed on it. Small groups willing to receive tree stipend through one of the members savings bank account need to prepare a resolution stating to which members savings bank account TIST can transfer the tree stipend. The resolution should have complete details of the member and the bank account details. On receipt of such resolution, TIST will generate tree stipend voucher and after the groups sign the voucher TIST would transfer the amount the account and it is the responsibility of the small groups to amicably share their amount.
