THE BIOCHAR METHOD OF RASING TREE SEEDLINGS
The Biochar method is a method of raising seed- ling using a mixture of changed compost and char. Procedures Step 1. Get the charcoal from the charcoal seller and grind it to fine powder for it to mix freely with the soil and compost. OR you can first collect small fines and dust from the seller - this doesn’t cost you much money. And if you can’t afford all the above, just get where they have burnt charcoal, collect the black soil and the fine remains of the charcoal, grind to the finest powder, mix it with your soil and compost manure. Step 2. Make some changed compost char and leave for 8-10 days. Step 3. Grind the biochar to a fine powder so that it can spread the minerals and retain water. Step 4. Mix the above biochar with compost 50:50 ratio mix and leave it for 10 days so that the tem- perature comes down. Step 5. Experiment design for 200 seedlings with four different batches of 2⅟2 inch, putting mix for four different levels of biochar and used with one species of indigenous tree. The mix will be mix of - I. Usual potting mix (control) II. Compost Char III. Biochar Batch 1 100% usual potting mix Batch 2 Add to potting mix 1 spade full of compost char 1 spade full of biochar Batch 3 Add to potting mix 3 spades full of compost biochar 3 spades full of biochar Batch 4 Add to potting mix 4 spades full of compost char 4 spades full of compost biochar The result of the experiments are as below. The above shall give up four simple samples with enough seedlings that we shall notice a difference. 2022 LHello, TIST Family I am here to share with you, how jubilated I was when I saw someone just come in and count my trees, measure the size of my trees, teach me how important it is to use an energy saving cook stove and also show me how best I can use my land and at last pays for the trees he/she has counted. Imagine what kind of organisation is this, TIST. I was just stuck looking for who can really save my child education. I had help from uncles, aunt, sister and of course everywhere, until when TIST came in to save me. I can’t imagine something like this can happen but indeed TIST has made it for me, so I ask everyone out there to come and join and start earning from the trees they will be planting. Thanks, and long live TIST.
2022 VOUCHERS HAVE BOOSTED TIST PRO- GRAM
Originally people were doubting about TIST. They thought that is a government’s secret motive to grab their land. But it was their surprise to see vouchers being doubled. For example, a Small Group which got 400,000= 2021 vouchers, now 951,000=2022. They were amazed to see that amount. Also, there was a group which joined 2018 and all along, their vouchers were showing negative. It was showing deduction but in actual sense, they didn’t receive any payment. I was fearing to go and update because this is the 6th year and yet others are earning. I took it to the leadership to be voided. But this group is surprised to see a voucher for the first time, I am relieved I can now go and update that group freely. Long live TIST Uganda
EKEESIT ROBERT ENCOURAGING GOD-CENTERED SMALL GROUPS
What is a Christian Small Group? “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” (Mat 18:20) Definition: A Christian Small Group is a community of 6-10 (not more than 12) people who have willingly and purposefully gathered together to support one another, to help each other grow spiritually, to hear God, and to extend the Kingdom of God to a hurting world. Purpose: God has gifted every Christian to function as a member of the Body of Christ on earth. Small Groups are one of the many vehicles through which the Body of Christ can be visibly demonstrated:
• Ministry to one another
• Discipleship
• Development of each person’s gifts
• Employment of those gifts for the building up of the Body of Christ
• Outreach to the community and world (1) Ministry to one another: A Small Group is a place where members feel loved, accepted and at home. Small Groups provide the framework where people can be transparent, can learn to speak the truth in love, and can develop mutual trust. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another---and all the more as you see the Day approaching (Heb 10:24-25) (2) Discipleship: Members grow spiritually through Bible study, prayer, and ministry to one another. They learn to look to the Holy Spirit as the Teacher of the group, allowing Him to guide and work in and through each member. I am the vine, you are the branches. If a man re- mains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit, apart from me you can do nothing (Jn. 15:5). (3) Development of each person’s gifts: Those whom God brings together in a Small Group are equipped with all the gifts needed to accomplish that group’s purpose, whether it be Bible study, support, fellowship, planning, economic develop- ment or church work. There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. (1 Cor. 12:4-7) (4) Employment of those gifts for the building up of the Body of Christ: Small Groups are a place where members are “built up” into the fullness of Christ. As the group bonds and becomes a safe place, each person’s gifts will emerge and enrich other members of the group. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. (Eph 4:15,16). (5) Outreach to the community and world: As partici- pants learn to identify and encourage each other’s gifts, the scope of their ministry is broadened in the Kingdom and a watching world will see God at work among them. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Thanks, and long live TIST. 2022 VOUCHERS HAVE BOOSTED TIST PRO- GRAM Originally people were doubting about TIST. They thought that is a government’s secret motive to grab their land. But it was their surprise to see vouchers being doubled. For example, a Small Group which got 400,000= 2021 vouchers, now 951,000=2022. They were amazed to see that amount. Also, there was a group which joined 2018 and all along, their vouchers were showing negative. It was showing deduction but in actual sense, they didn’t receive any payment. I was fearing to go and update because this is the 6th year and yet others are earning. I took it to the leadership to be voided. There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. (1 Cor. 12:4-7) (4) Employment of those gifts for the building up of the Body of Christ: Small Groups are a place where members are “built up” into the fullness of Christ. As the group bonds and becomes a safe place, each person’s gifts will emerge and enrich other members of the group. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. (Eph 4:15,16). (5) Outreach to the community and world: As partici- pants learn to identify and encourage each other’s gifts, the scope of their ministry is broadened in the Kingdom and a watching world will see God at work among them. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
